Coming from scenography, Lena Heeschen currently works on kinetic light installations at the OPEKTA studios in Cologne. Since 2021, her works have been regularly shown in exhibitions in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and the surrounding area.

“Under the title LOOP, I summarise a series of installation works which I basically describe as studies of material, light and movement. Circular movement plays a central role in all the works of the series: its continuity, its seemingly endless repetitions, the associations it triggers with closed, monotonous systems and machinery. The factual, cyclical principle is accompanied by an emotional level: the confrontation with being stuck in fixed structures and the possibility of change, the possibility of an outbreak.”
